As a BCBA® who is forging a path out of a traditional ABA job, the Master ABA Dojo has been absolutely essential to my journey. At the Dojo I can connect with likeminded BCBAs® who get it, have similar values, and who have incredible insights to help me along the way. I have gotten so accustomed to the Dojo I feel like these are my colleagues, like we work together. If I could go back I would have joined earlier!

After becoming a BCBA ®, I worked for a privately owned ABA company in Charleston, SC. My supervisor was amazing and there were other BCBAs ® and BCaBAs ® in the company that I could collaborate with. Move forward 6 years and my family decided to relocate to our hometown (still in South Carolina). That’s when I opened my own ABA company. My former supervisor was a remarkable mentor and helped me get everything set up. For the first eight months, I continued to meet with her management team once a month. During these meetings we shared research articles and her team discussed their clients. Although I was able to share any client concerns I had, I quickly realized those meetings were not beneficial for me, especially since I was driving an hour and a half to get there.
While looking online for available CEUs, I discovered Master ABA. It was exactly what I needed to fulfill the BACB requirements for continuing education. And that was that. Then one day they posted about a BCBA ® retreat. This caught my attention, so I looked into it and decided, “why not?” As part of my retreat package, I was given a Dojo subscription for one year. I attended the retreat expecting to meet other BCBA s® and get my CEUs. However, that retreat turned into so much more for me. It was during that trip that I met other professionals with values that aligned with mine. After this experience, I became an active Dojo member and even joined the Beyond Boundaries group. As the sole BCBA ® of my company, I was lacking the collaboration that I needed. The Dojo has provided me the opportunity to explore new ideas; bounce my ideas, frustrations, and concerns around with other like-minded people; and most importantly this group has made me think outside the box. This is the ABA family that I didn’t realize I needed. Thank you, Master ABA, for all of the support that you have provided this lonely BCBA®!

When I was still in my Master’s program, feeling lost and overwhelmed, I searched everywhere for guidance—then I found Master ABA. Amelia became the mentor, coach, and encourager I needed, providing practical resources, evidence-based training, and unwavering support that helped me navigate my role as a supervisor. Master ABA doesn’t just offer materials—they provide current research, innovative ideas, and expert guidance that directly improve my programming, parent and RBT® support, and ethical decision-making. The emails alone have been invaluable, introducing me to concepts I wouldn’t have even known to look for—like SWEEPS, self-care strategies, and compassionate ABA.
Thanks to these insights, I’m now presenting on topics I only recently discovered!
The customer service is outstanding —Amelia is always available to answer questions, provide research, and help silence imposter syndrome when it creeps in. Even when she doesn’t have an immediate answer, she follows up with a solution.
Master ABA isn’t just a resource; it’s a lifeline for BCBAs® who want to stay current, feel supported, and implement the best possible care for their clients. They are truly making a difference in the field, and I can’t recommend them enough!
